Chapter 59
Old Zhuang did actually raise a cow, but he rarely used it.
Only certain rice paddies and large plots requiring extensive planting needed a cow for plowing.
Most of the time, he did the work himself.
As for the fruit he grew, because there were many varieties and they were scattered, they were basically planted and harvested by hand.
And ever since signing a contract with Zhou Baishu, he had been growing more medicinal herbs and experimental crops for cooking.
Those didn’t require cows.
Many fruit trees were also better suited to being planted on hillsides—just dig a hole and put in the sapling.
Such pits didn’t require plowing with a cow.
So there were very few occasions when he actually needed one.
But these were cows gifted by his “in-laws”…
“Th-there are so many cows…” Old Zhuang opened his mouth, really wanting to look happy.
But his mind was full of thoughts like: “How much grass will all these cows eat?” “If I have to manage this many cows at once, will I even have time to farm?” “I’m a farmer, not a cowherd.” “Where am I supposed to keep so many cows?”
Yet saying he didn’t like the gift, or asking them to take them back right away, would be terribly impolite.
In the end, Old Zhuang could only force a smile. “You’re really too kind, heh… heh…”
Zhuang Yanyu knew Old Zhuang well and could see the strain in his expression. He quietly tugged at Wen Chenxi’s sleeve.
Wen Chenxi took a deep breath and, trying to stay calm, asked, “Have the truck drivers been paid?”
Wen Jingzhong inexplicably felt a little guilty. “They’ve been settled.”
Wen Chenxi nodded.
Since the payment had been settled, the small trucks lined up and drove off one by one after unloading the cows.
The rural road wasn’t wide. They could only return the way they came, and to avoid blocking traffic, they couldn’t take the opposite lane—so all the cows had to be herded to the front of Old Zhuang’s house.
Otherwise, the cows would’ve completely blocked the road.
Wen Jingzhong had personally selected the cows. When he asked someone to source them, he specifically said they had to be strong and good for plowing.
If they were scrawny and listless, he’d be too embarrassed to give them away.
So every single one looked robust and sturdy.
And precisely because they were so sturdy, the twenty cows completely filled the open space between Old Zhuang’s house and Uncle Liu’s.
The cows blocked the cars, and the cars blocked the cows.
The yard area wasn’t big to begin with. The three cars Wen Chenxi’s family drove over had already barely fit, with one parked by Uncle Liu’s house.
Now it was even worse—the twenty cows had clogged everything up.
Aunt Liu had been planning to go back to her own house to fetch some more vegetables, but the moment she stepped out and saw the tightly packed cows, she realized she couldn’t even get through.
She had never imagined there would be a moment when she’d look at such sturdy cows and think… they were really too sturdy.
An awkward silence filled the air.
Only the cows occasionally broke it with a “moo.”
Wen Chenxi’s face had gone a little dark.
Wen Jingzhong clearly hadn’t expected things to turn out like this and suddenly felt embarrassed.
Uncle Liu tried to ease the tension. “Well then, let’s go inside and have some tea. Old Zhuang has already boiled the water.”
Only then did everyone pretend nothing had happened and head indoors.
Old Zhuang’s house wasn’t large, but the courtyard was spacious.
The weather was nice today, so they brewed tea directly at the stone table in the yard.
The tea leaves were grown by Old Zhuang himself. Zhou Baishu had long been coveting this tea.
Old Zhuang didn’t grow much. When he occasionally gifted some, it was only a small box. Zhou Baishu treasured it so much he couldn’t bear to drink it, so he would come here to mooch tea instead.
As Zhou Qingcheng’s “adoptive father,” Zhou Baishu was also considered part of the Wen family.
At the very least, the Wen family never treated him as an outsider.
Now that Wen Chenxi and Zhuang Yanyu were getting married, and both families were sitting down to discuss the wedding date and arrangements, it was a serious matter for the elders.
To show how much they valued Zhuang Yanyu, Zhou Baishu naturally came along.
Although Old Zhuang’s house wasn’t big, it was kept very clean.
Knowing they were coming, Old Zhuang had even done a thorough cleaning, making it look even tidier.
“You two are in for a treat today,” Zhou Baishu said as soon as he sat down, introducing the tea to Wen Jingzhong and Song Yunyue. “You can’t buy the tea Old Zhuang grows anywhere outside.”
Old Zhuang chuckled. “Oh no, no, it’s just country-grown tea, nothing special. Please, make yourselves comfortable.”
Zhuang Yanyu went inside to bring out two small stools. He and Wen Chenxi sat on the lower stools, giving the taller seats to Wen Jingzhong and Song Yunyue.
Wen Jingzhong considered himself a close friend of Zhuang Yanyu despite the age gap, and naturally showed a bit more respect toward Old Zhuang.
Even though Old Zhuang was actually younger than him, with so many younger people present, he still had to put on a bit of a dignified front. “No need to be so polite, in-law. From now on, we’re all family.”
Uncle Liu chimed in, “That’s right, no need to stand on ceremony. Have some tea, eat some fruit.”
The fruit, of course, was also grown by Old Zhuang.
Zhuang Yanyu said to Song Yunyue, “Dad’s fruit is sweeter than anything on the market.”
Song Yunyue immediately responded enthusiastically, “That impressive? If my in-law grows fruit himself, then I must taste it properly!”
This was only the second time Song Yunyue and Zhuang Yanyu had met.
Before coming here, Wen Chenxi had once brought Zhuang Yanyu back to the old family home for a meal.
At that time, Song Yunyue had already liked him very much.
Zhuang Yanyu’s obedient appearance was quite deceptive—especially with his fair, clean looks, he seemed like the type who didn’t fool around.
After meeting him, Song Yunyue often praised him to her friends.
To give Zhuang Yanyu face, she immediately picked up some sliced fruit and began eating.
Just then, two cow heads poked in from outside.
There was simply no room outside; the cows were crammed together, pushing and shoving one another.
Two of them spotted the various plants and flowers in the courtyard.
The moment they saw Old Zhuang’s greenery, they grew restless, clearly wanting to come in for a bite.
Their big eyes stared at the group for a while. Seeing no reaction, they leisurely stepped inside.
Watching the two cows head straight toward Old Zhuang’s plants, Zhou Baishu panicked. “Stop them! That’s not grass—that’s top-grade medicinal herbs!”
Old Zhuang hurried over to block the cows as well.
Everyone scrambled in a flurry before finally driving the cows out of the courtyard.
For a moment, everyone wore different expressions.
Song Yunyue, Wen Chenxi, and Zhou Qingcheng all turned their gazes toward Wen Jingzhong.
It was practically a death stare.
Wen Jingzhong tried to salvage the situation. “Well… how about we find someone to move the cows somewhere else first?”
Find who?
Of everyone present, only Old Zhuang had experience herding cows.
But he was the host. If he had to herd all twenty cows somewhere else, would they even get to eat lunch?
Just as Old Zhuang was about to stand up, Uncle Liu stepped forward. “I’ll go. I used to herd cows when I was young. I won’t take them far—just move them a bit farther down.”
Wen Chenxi forced a smile. “…Thank you for the trouble, Uncle Liu.”
Uncle Liu chuckled. “No trouble at all, no trouble. You guys just enjoy yourselves first.”
He snapped a bamboo stick and went out of the yard to herd the cows.
Uncle Liu didn’t drive the cows far—just down a small path a little below the two households.
The path was mainly for tricycles and motorcycles; no small cars would pass through, and there was plenty of space on either side for the cows to stand for a while.
Although it looked like only a few hundred meters, it had to be repeated twenty times. By the time all the cows were moved, an hour had passed.
It was no small workload.
That was still with experience—knowing how to herd cows so they go in the direction you want.
Without experience, cows would basically wander wherever they pleased.
By the time Uncle Liu returned from herding the cows, he was drenched in sweat.
Wen Jingzhong’s face grew even more embarrassed, and he went over to pour tea for Uncle Liu. “Brother Liu, please rest. You’ve worked so hard.”
Hearing someone address him as “Brother Liu,” Uncle Liu felt flattered. “Just call me Old Liu.”
After all, he was being called “uncle” by the son of a wealthy big-shot. Being called “Old Liu” by Wen Chenxi himself made him feel slightly reassured, thinking Wen Chenxi was still young.
But Wen Jingzhong’s words genuinely flustered him.
“You deserve it, of course.” Wen Jingzhong was unusually polite—probably feeling truly guilty at this point.
With that taken care of, Old Zhuang and Aunt Liu had already started cooking, leaving only Zhuang Yanyu to brew tea for them.
Compared to last time, when she didn’t know much about brewing tea, Zhou Baishu noticed that in just a few months, Zhuang Yanyu had become very skilled.
Clearly, he hadn’t forgotten what he’d learned before, and had even studied it further to become this proficient.
Zhou Baishu took a sip of the tea Zhuang Yanyu brewed and nodded in satisfaction. “Yes, this is it. Xiaoyu, you’ve learned your father’s tea-making skills perfectly.”
Zhuang Yanyu smiled with pursed lips.
Zhou Qingcheng took a sip as well. He didn’t know much about tea, but since Zhou Baishu said it was good, he immediately saw it through a positive lens, nodded, and began praising him extravagantly. “This is amazing! Xiaoyu, you really can do everything—so impressive!”
After tea, Zhuang Yanyu gave them a tour of the old family home.
They saw both the front and back yards.
“The air here is wonderful,” Song Yunyue said, taking a deep breath. It even carried faint floral scents.
Looking not far away, less than two kilometers off, there was a large hill—this was the one Zhuang Yanyu had mentioned, where his father planted fruit trees.
Perhaps it was her imagination, but she felt that all the fragrant smells were drifting from that direction.
She guessed that the hill must have many fruit trees, and the scent she’d smelled was coming from there.
“No wonder you and Zhiyuan often come here to play,” Song Yunyue smiled. “The air really is nice.”
Zhou Qingcheng chuckled. “Mom, the reason big brother comes here often isn’t just for the air.”
He gestured toward Zhuang Yanyu. “It’s definitely because Xiaoyu is here. That’s why he wants to come so often.”
Wen Chenxi glanced at him but, unusually, didn’t refute him.
Zhuang Yanyu smiled, showing his dimples, and invited Song Yunyue to come often as well.
Zhou Qingcheng added, “There aren’t many inns or hotels nearby—it’s inconvenient.”
Judging by Song Yunyue’s refined tastes, she definitely wouldn’t be used to that.
She said, “You don’t need to stay in a hotel. Later we can ask if any locals want to sell their houses, and we’ll buy one.”
This was a question both Ji Zhiyuan and Li Xi had asked before.
Previously Zhuang Yanyu didn’t know, but as a former excellent operations officer, he wouldn’t allow himself to have such a blind spot in knowledge.
So he had researched the matter carefully afterward.
Zhuang Yanyu said, “Very few people sell their homes.”
Song Yunyue looked at him. “No one wants to sell?”
Zhuang Yanyu nodded. “Most people with money will buy houses in the city, but they won’t sell their ancestral homes. Here, these houses are their family heritage.”
Song Yunyue understood. In traditional Chinese culture, one returns to their roots. An ancestral home carries much inheritance and memory—very few would sell it.
Zhou Qingcheng asked, “What about buying land to build your own house?”
Zhuang Yanyu replied, “That’s hard too. Most of the countryside is farmland, and you can’t build houses on farmland. If your family’s conditions are really poor, you can apply for permission, but most people just build on the land they already have.”
“I see.”
After chatting for a while, they heard Old Zhuang calling out, “Time to eat! Xiao Shiyi, tell everyone to come back for lunch!”
No need for Zhuang Yanyu to shout—everyone heard and naturally started heading back.
Uncle Liu and Aunt Liu were excellent cooks. They handled the cooking for lunch themselves.
Everyone sat around a large round table, and Old Zhuang was holding a jar of wine.
Zhou Baishu took a deep breath. “This must be Old Zhuang’s own medicinal wine! Haha, coming here today was the right choice! We’re really in for a treat!”
Wen Jingzhong asked, “You’ve tried it?”
“Of course. I’m close with Old Zhuang. We’ve got a history together!” Zhou Baishu said.
He came every year.
Wen Jingzhong felt a twinge of crisis.
His son was closer to Zhou Baishu, and now even his in-law’s father was closer to Zhou Baishu. What status did he even have?
Wen Jingzhong immediately stood up. “Regular wine like this isn’t exciting. Next time I’ll send better wine for my father-in-law, to—”
Before he could finish, a loud shout came from outside:
“Damn it! Whose cows are these?! They’ve eaten all my vegetables!”
“Whose cows?! Someone control them! My crops are being destroyed! The vegetable patch is completely trampled!”
Wen Jingzhong slowly, very slowly, sank back into his seat.
Uncle Liu hurriedly said, “That’s Zhang Cuihua shouting. Oh no—could some of the cows have wandered over there? Her field is right nearby. I’ll go check!”
Old Zhuang quickly said, “I’ll go too.”
As soon as they left, all the death stares once again fell squarely on Wen Jingzhong.
He couldn’t stay put any longer. “Ahem, ahem… I’ll go see.”
And so everyone ran outside to see.
Sure enough, it was the cows Wen Jingzhong had bought. With no one watching them, they had scattered everywhere.
Several had even gotten into the vegetable garden. From a distance, the garden looked like a complete disaster.
Perfectly good crops had been trampled or eaten—there wasn’t a single patch left intact.
Wen Jingzhong went completely silent.
Later, Old Zhuang and Uncle Liu had to negotiate with Aunt Zhang, offering to compensate her for the damage and even inviting her to lunch afterward to smooth things over. Only then did she stop shouting.
When Old Zhuang and Uncle Liu returned, both seemed hesitant to speak.
Finally, Uncle Liu broke the silence. “Uh… Boss Wen, one cow is enough for farming. You sent so many at once, and there’s nowhere to keep them. Old Zhuang has work to do in the fields every day—you can’t just lock the cows up somewhere, and we don’t even have pastures here…”
He spoke politely, but the meaning was crystal clear.
No space to raise them, not enough grass to feed them, not enough manpower to care for them.
Wen Jingzhong said, “I heard Old Zhuang has over ten acres. I was afraid the cows wouldn’t be enough…”
Zhou Baishu sighed. “Those ten acres are all research plots for our institute.”
You dare let cows loose there?!
The researchers would go after you!
Do you even realize how many papers and studies are at stake there?!
Wen Jingzhong… had nothing to say.
He went out and made a phone call.
Half an hour later, the small trucks returned, frantically taking the cows away.
After that, Wen Jingzhong didn’t utter another word.
Sitting among the crowd, he was as well-behaved as a quail, not daring to express an opinion for fear of making things worse.
Wen Chenxi felt awful too.
While everyone else was having tea after lunch, Wen Chenxi privately found Old Zhuang and earnestly apologized.
Old Zhuang waved his hand with a smile. “It’s nothing. Your father meant well. You’ve lived in the city for a long time and don’t know much about farming—so it’s perfectly normal.”
Old Zhuang had a very relaxed attitude.
Or perhaps, aside from Xiao Shiyi and the crops he grew, nothing really mattered to him—he didn’t see this as a big deal.
Besides, as he said, Wen’s father genuinely meant well and wanted to please.
It was just that these wealthy city folk didn’t understand rural life—they’d inadvertently make mistakes.
Wen Chenxi breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank you, Uncle Zhuang.”
With the cows gone and Wen Jingzhong quiet, the two families got along very smoothly. They chatted happily with one another.
However, the events of the day had left the Wen family feeling embarrassed. They didn’t linger too long; after lunch and over an hour of tea and chatting, Song Yunyue prepared to leave.
Since it was still Sunday, Zhuang Yanyu planned to stay behind to accompany his father, so he didn’t return with the Wen family.
Wen Chenxi said, “I’ll come pick you up tomorrow.”
Zhuang Yanyu replied, “Sure.”
They packed fruit and some medicinal herbs grown by Old Zhuang—things that could be used for tea or soup.
Song Yunyue felt even more embarrassed—she hadn’t expected so many return gifts.
This made the Wen family feel even more uneasy.
So as soon as they got into the car, before it even started, everyone took out their phones, removed Wen Jingzhong from the family chat, and blocked him.
Not just on WeChat—they also blocked his phone number.
Wen Jingzhong… could only sit there in silence.
After the two families had met and the wedding date was set, Wen Chenxi became completely uninhibited, wanting to announce it to the whole company.
Even if everyone already knew, it wouldn’t stop him from showing off.
Previously, Wen Chenxi rarely went to other departments at work.
Even when he did, it was always with other executives during inspections.
But after meeting the families, Wen Chenxi went to the engineering department almost every day to see Zhuang Yanyu.
In the morning, he’d bring fruit. In the afternoon, he’d bring snacks or afternoon tea.
Tasks he could have delegated, he insisted on doing himself.
After work, he no longer stayed late and would arrive ten minutes early at the engineering department to wait for Zhuang Yanyu.
The Intelligent Building Engineering Department was in a state of panic, afraid to slack off for fear that the top boss would suddenly appear behind them.
The engineers complained to Supervisor Xu, who complained to Zhuang Yanyu.
Zhuang Yanyu had to instruct Wen Chenxi not to disturb him during work hours.
In the end, Wen Chenxi could only shoot Supervisor Xu a cold glare and obediently comply—he never came during work, only near the end of the day.
But afternoon tea and snacks were still sent by someone on his behalf.
The engineering team was amazed at how obedient Wen Chenxi was, thinking, Zhuang Yanyu is incredible! How did he get the big boss to follow him so willingly?
What they didn’t know was that while Wen Chenxi appeared obedient during the day, at night he would feign grievance while taking full advantage of Zhuang Yanyu to get his way.
When Li Xi teased him, “I didn’t expect Old Wen, you’re also under strict wife control…”
Wen Chenxi smiled and nodded. “Only those under strict wife control can get rich.”
All the while, in his mind, he thought: the more obedient he seems, the guiltier Yuyu feels—and he won’t refuse if he asks for a little extra.
Only a fool wouldn’t listen to his wife!
However, Wen Chenxi didn’t get to gloat for long.
Just as he was happily enjoying life with his wife, Zhuang Yanyu was reassigned by the higher-ups.
They were building a fully enclosed secret base, where cybersecurity was critically important.
It wasn’t just about preventing hackers—it was also about keeping foreign spies from prying.
So Zhuang Yanyu was secretly transferred for three months.
For Wen Chenxi, it was like a thunderbolt on a clear day.
Zhuang Yanyu hadn’t expected a secret assignment that long; he’d assumed being a temporary worker meant just helping out occasionally.
But the contract was signed, and as a former systems expert with strong professional ethics, he had no choice but to go.
Zhuang Yanyu had been a little reluctant to leave Wen Chenxi behind.
But then he remembered the past few nights, when Wen Chenxi had insisted on… multiple rounds.
The worst night: four rounds in one evening.
From the living room sofa to the bathroom, then from the bathroom to the bed.
Just when he thought it was over, he was carried back to the bathroom—and there was another round.
For the first time, Zhuang Yanyu experienced what it meant that men of this age are “like wolves and tigers.”
He even regretted canceling his “good brother mode.”
In boyfriend mode, Wen Chenxi really…
Such unrestrained behavior made Zhuang Yanyu feel a deep sense of crisis.
It was terrible for health preservation!
Better to be apart for a while, rest properly, and recover.
So Zhuang Yanyu grabbed his backpack and left happily.
Wen Chenxi: “…”
The construction of the secret base involved all sorts of aspects. There, Zhuang Yanyu not only met the legendary KKK, but also ran into Zhou Qingcheng.
Zhou Qingcheng’s research institute was state-run. “We’ve developed a new chip; the results are pretty good. This time, it’s just a test—to see if it can be applied to the new equipment.”
Zhuang Yanyu asked, “What equipment?”
Zhou Qingcheng winked. “That, I can’t say.”
Zhuang Yanyu: “Oh.”
Then he said, “Never mind, I get it.”
Zhou Qingcheng was surprised. “You understand just like that?”
Zhuang Yanyu said matter-of-factly, “A little analysis is enough.”
If he guessed correctly, this base is related to military and government work. Then it’s obvious where Zhou Qingcheng’s lab chips would be used.
Zhou Qingcheng glanced around; seeing no one was paying attention, he whispered, “Little Yu, you can’t tell anyone!”
Zhuang Yanyu nodded. “I won’t.”
Feeling reassured about his future sister-in-law’s character, Zhou Qingcheng relaxed and complained to someone else: “Too bad the experiment didn’t go perfectly.”
Zhuang Yanyu asked, “It failed?”
Zhou Qingcheng hung his head. “Too many restrictions. We can’t produce lithography machines like theirs. Over the years, this chip is actually our lab’s most successful project so far, but it still can’t compare.”
Zhuang Yanyu hesitated.
He wanted to say that foreign chips aren’t all that great either.
But he still preferred not to discuss chips with Zhou Qingcheng.
He could stay so calm because, in name, he was now Zhou Qingcheng’s “senior,” and Zhou Qingcheng wouldn’t dare speculate too much about him.
Still, talking about chips in detail was too risky.
Zhou Qingcheng also clearly had no intention of discussing chips with his future sister-in-law. In his eyes, Zhuang Yanyu was a mechanical genius and versatile, but that didn’t mean he knew about chips.
“Alright! I’ve got to get back to my advisor. I’ll have dinner with you tonight, Little Yu!” Zhou Qingcheng quickly adjusted his mood and waved goodbye.
Zhuang Yanyu: “Mm.”
Zhuang Yanyu was in the same group as KKK.
Wen Chenxi had mentioned KKK before—five years older than Zhuang Yanyu and, by far, the best technician Zhuang Yanyu had encountered so far.
KKK also enjoyed talking to Zhuang Yanyu and had invited him to dinner after work.
Zhuang Yanyu said, “I already have plans with someone else.”
KKK smiled. “With Zhou Qingcheng? I know him too; we can all eat together.”
Zhuang Yanyu didn’t know the nature of KKK’s relationship with Zhou Qingcheng, so he couldn’t refuse.
At the cafeteria, Zhou Qingcheng was already waiting. Seeing Zhuang Yanyu, he waved urgently: “Little Yu! Over here!”
Zhuang Yanyu walked toward him.
But when Zhou Qingcheng saw KKK, his brows furrowed.
KKK greeted cheerfully: “Qingcheng, long time no see.”
Zhou Qingcheng lifted his chin. “It’s been a long time. But I’m having dinner with Little Yu now, so let’s skip the small talk.”
KKK said casually, “Let’s eat together.”
Zhou Qingcheng didn’t want to dine with him, but to maintain decorum in front of his future sister-in-law, he couldn’t chase him away, so he spent the evening sulking.
Finally, after dinner, back in the dorm, Zhou Qingcheng pulled Zhuang Yanyu aside: “Little Yu, don’t get too close to him—he likes men!”
Absolutely cannot let someone steal my sister-in-law!
Zhou Qingcheng thought his sister-in-law was a genius. Although he married young and hadn’t done research he whole life, he married his older brother—it was family.
He had to carefully guard against KKK!
Zhuang Yanyu looked at him in confusion. “What does it matter to me that he likes men?”
Zhou Qingcheng said, “What if he likes your type, Little Yu?”
Zhuang Yanyu: “I don’t like men.”
Zhou Qingcheng: “…”
Zhuang Yanyu remembered that Ah Xi was also a man and quickly added, “Except for Ah Xi.”
Yes—other than Ah Xi, he didn’t like any other men.
Only then did Zhou Qingcheng feel reassured.
Still, before going to bed that night, Zhou Qingcheng called his older brother to warn him to pay attention.
Wen Chenxi’s voice was cool: “Zhou Qingcheng, are you itching for trouble?”
Zhou Qingcheng said, “I’m looking out for you! If someone steals your sister-in-law, where are you going to cry? Aren’t you worried at all? That 3K guy isn’t bad-looking, so you better pay attention to your sister-in-law! Do you know what’s most important in a long-distance relationship? Instant replies! Answer every question! Be online 24/7! And every day, say ‘I miss you, I love you’ a few more times…”
Wen Chenxi: “You have so much experience?”
Zhou Qingcheng cleared his throat. “I’ve read a lot of these kinds of storybooks…”
Wen Chenxi: “Stop worrying about all this nonsense.”
Zhou Qingcheng muttered, “I can live without you, big brother, but I absolutely cannot live without this sister-in-law! I can’t not worry when he’s in the same group with KKK for three months straight—they’ll be together day and night!”
The last sentence was said with genuine sincerity.
Wen Chenxi used Zhuang Yanyu’s trademark response: “Oh.”
Then he mercilessly hung up.
After hanging up, Wen Chenxi glanced at his pinned contacts.
Would he worry if Yuyu spent all day with someone else?
Of course he would.
But he had already said this: it was Zhuang Yanyu’s career and the best opportunity for him.
He would support him unconditionally.
And he believed that the person he loved would love him back just as deeply.
[Wen Chenxi: Wait for me.]
[Wen Chenxi: I love you.]
Three months later.
At the airport.
Zhuang Yanyu spotted Wen Chenxi waiting for him at the exit.
After three whole months apart, Zhuang Yanyu felt that Ah Xi somehow looked even better than before.
Wen Chenxi stood there smiling at him: “Yuyu, welcome back.”
Zhuang Yanyu walked faster and faster until he reached the man and was held in his arms, his heart still pounding wildly.
“Mm, I’m back.”
“Home?”
“Home.”
They held each other quietly for a while, ignoring the eyes around them, and walked away hand in hand.
Zhuang Yanyu’s gaze fell on the busy arrival hall, then on their intertwined hands.
At this moment, he was just an ordinary person, walking through the bustling crowd, holding his lover’s hand.
Just like everyone else.

The End.
