Chapter 64
To Xia Tong, Lin Mingfei’s voice was like a calming spell. The little omega quickly came to his senses, blinking his big eyes.
“Zero! When did you get here?” His eyes lit up, and then he yawned uncontrollably. “Oh man, you know what… I just had a terrifying nightmare.”
Lin Mingfei glanced at the bite marks on his arm and sighed helplessly: “I know.”
“You know?” Xia Tong was a little surprised, then delighted. “You actually knew! No wonder you’re Zero! We’re totally in sync!”
“…”
As sweet as that sounded, Lin Mingfei figured it was time to lay out the truth.
“You bit me.” He extended his arm, his voice tinged with grievance. “What are you, part dog, Xia Xiaotong?”
Xia Tong stared dumbfounded at the deep set of teeth marks. “Huh?”
“‘Huh’ what?” Lin Mingfei looked at his silly expression and couldn’t help teasing him. “This was you. If you don’t believe me, we can match your teeth to the bite marks. Don’t even think about denying it.”
“I…” Xia Tong stammered, completely flustered. His thoughts were still stuck on Lin Mingfei’s poor arm, and the bite mark made him feel so guilty. Unable to think of anything better, he grabbed Lin Mingfei’s arm, rubbed it against his cheek, and hugged it to his chest, just like a little puppy.
“I’m sorry, Zero…” he said pitifully. “I didn’t mean to. Let me blow on it… and rub it better.”
“I don’t need that,” Lin Mingfei raised an eyebrow. “I want to bite you back.”
Xia Tong’s eyes widened in horror. “Huh? You want to bite me now?”
Lin Mingfei nodded solemnly. “Yup. Why not?” He even rotated his arm to show off the fresh, bloody bite. “Look! You made me bleed.”
Xia Tong winced in sympathy, guilt flooding him. But he was honestly terrified. He gulped and hesitated. “It’s… it’s not that you can’t… but…”
“But?” Lin Mingfei asked with a teasing glint in his eye.
“I’m scared it’ll hurt!” the little omega finally broke down, scrunching his face. “If you must bite, then go easy, okay?” Saying that, he rolled up his sleeve, revealing a soft, pale forearm like a lotus root, and held it up to Lin Mingfei, face turned away like a brave little martyr.
Lin Mingfei almost burst out laughing. He looked down at him, then gently grabbed Xia Tong’s wrist.
Xia Tong’s face went pale. “Wuwuwu—”
Lin Mingfei gently lifted the back of his hand, raising it to his lips. As the little omega’s face scrunched up into anxious wrinkles, he suddenly lowered his head and placed a light kiss on the back of Xia Tong’s hand.
The skin on the back of Xia Tong’s hand was soft and delicate, warm like a sweet, glutinous rice dessert fresh out of the oven—so tempting it made one want to swallow it whole.
Xia Tong froze, blinking his eyes open and turning his head hesitantly. “Zero…”
“Just teasing you,” Lin Mingfei chuckled in a low voice, lowering the boy’s hand—but didn’t let go. He held it loosely in his palm, gently kneading it as if absentmindedly. “How could I bear to bite you? Only you, this little rascal, could be so ruthless.”
Xia Tong pouted slightly, but he knew he’d been spoiled again. He leaned over, soft and clingy. “I really didn’t mean to… Gege, I dreamed of that saber-toothed tiger Goblin again!”
“Huh?” Lin Mingfei’s internal alarm bells rang. “You didn’t even dream of me, but you dreamed of Goblin? Have you actually seen him?”
“Uh… I think I saw him once in-game?” Xia Tong tried to recall, confused. “But I don’t really remember what he looks like—”
“And you still managed to dream of him?” Lin Mingfei was speechless.
“Well, I just did!” Xia Tong grew a little flustered. He balled his fists and gave Lin Mingfei’s shoulder a soft thump. “He mocked me! Mocked our team! Even mocked you! So I gave him a good beating in the dream!”
“You beat him up?” Lin Mingfei laughed, clearly delighted. “How did you beat him?”
“I used my special effects staff and whacked him on the head! Whacked him hard! I pounded him into the ground like a stake!” Xia Tong waved his arms energetically.
“Beautiful work.” Lin Mingfei grinned. “Maybe that was a prophetic dream. Next month in scrims, we’ll pound Saber-Tooth one by one into the dirt!”
“Not just scrims! Official matches too!” Xia Tong added, “Hee-yah!”
While Xia Tong was still caught up in the thrill of victory, Lin Mingfei sneaked a quick kiss. The soft sweetness lingering on his lips carried a hint of osmanthus. The little omega didn’t even notice he’d been taken advantage of—still grinning ear to ear. Lin Mingfei felt smug… but then a thought struck him. His expression sharpened, and he gave Xia Tong’s cheek a pinch, making the boy face him directly.
“Yow!” Xia Tong yelped, eyes wide.
“Hey, Xia Xiao Tong,” Lin Mingfei said seriously. “What I just did to you—you absolutely cannot let anyone else do, okay?”
“What you just did? What did you do?” Xia Tong asked blankly.
Lin Mingfei was momentarily tongue-tied. “I mean—”
Damn it. He couldn’t even say what he’d done himself!
Xia Tong: “Hm?”
Lin Mingfei’s ears turned red. “That thing—”
“Oh! You mean this?” Xia Tong suddenly lit up and grabbed Lin Mingfei’s hand, brought it to his mouth, and gave it a loud smooch. “Muah!”
Lin Mingfei: “!!!”
The soft touch of those plush lips against his rough palm sent a jolt straight through him—like electricity, it tingled all the way to his heart.
“Was that it?” Xia Tong asked again.
“…Yeah.” Lin Mingfei swallowed hard, dazed. His ears burned even redder.
“Got it then! I won’t let anyone else do that to me!” Xia Tong promised, beaming. He tossed the blanket aside, climbed off the bed, slid on his slippers, and muttered as he moved, “Ahhh I’m so hungry, I want food.”
Lin Mingfei looked down, troubled. The more he thought about it, the more uneasy he felt.
“And you can’t go doing that to just anyone either.” He followed Xia Tong out the room, fretting as he gave a second reminder: “Did you hear me, Xia Xiao Tong?”
But Xia Tong’s thoughts had already flown to food. He skipped to the door and flung it open, replying distractedly, “Yesss, yesss! From now on I’ll only do that with you! Okay?”
The door opened—and standing right outside was He Youjin, his expression pale and sinister, like a ghostly judge straight from the underworld.
“May I ask whether you two are discussing game strategy,” He Youjin said slowly, “or something much more unspeakable?”
Xia Tong didn’t think anything of it and grinned brightly: “Yup yup! It’s definitely something unspeakable that only the two of us can do! So we can’t tell Manager He!”
Lin Mingfei: “…”
He Youjin roared: “Lin. Ming. Fei!! You better explain right now!!”
That scrim had really lit a fire under the P Team. Even during dinner, everyone was still talking about in-game strategies.
Xia Tong had somehow gotten hold of a napkin and was scribbling on it with a ballpoint pen while sipping soup. Everyone kept piling food into his bowl, but he was too busy to eat, and his bowl looked like a small mountain.
“What are you even doing?” Lin Mingfei couldn’t help but knock on his head. “Whatever it is, put it aside. Eat first, or you’ll mess up your digestion.”
“I just thought of a new damage cycle! I think it can increase crowd control time!” Xia Tong said, eyes gleaming with excitement. “I’m gonna try it out right after dinner!” Then he quickly gobbled down his rice and gulped the soup Shi Ya gave him, before racing upstairs with a “thump-thump-thump,” leaving the others stunned at the table.
“Look at that energy! That ambition!!” He Youjin clicked his tongue in admiration. “I can already tell, Xia Tong is the rising star of our team! I’m gonna ride his coattails to fortune!” Then he turned to Lin Mingfei with a wicked grin. “So don’t you dare get any funny ideas—or I’ll bite you to death!”
Lin Mingfei: “…”
When Xia Tong logged into the game, he noticed his friend list had several new requests. Without thinking too much, he accepted a few—and immediately, his private message interface began lighting up with ding-ding-dong-dong notifications.
Peach Sister:
[blink!! Mommy loves you!! You’re amazing!!! Mwah mwah mwah mwah mwah!]

…
Messages like these flooded Xia Tong’s screen in an instant, nearly crashing his chat interface. Terrified, he gave a little shake and immediately logged out of the game.
He hesitated on the login screen for a while before gradually realizing: these were probably fans who had just watched their debut match. Their over-the-top behavior was likely just a way to show affection.
People liking him—that should be a good thing!
Xia Tong thought he shouldn’t act so cowardly. He should face this warmth head-on and accept it!
So he mustered his courage and logged back in.
Who would’ve thought—just as he entered the game, fireworks exploded across the town map sky: Boom boom boom—dazzling and blinding. At the same time, a bold announcement swept across the world chat:
FishFishIsYummy’s heartfelt confession to polaris_blink:
[blink I love you! I want to have cute little monkey babies with you!! A triple birth ABO set!!]
Xia Tong: ”!!!???”
Babies? Monkeys? As an omega, the idea of birthing such bizarre things was his worst nightmare!
And someone else wanted to have them with him? No way!! He couldn’t do that!!
This time, the little omega shut the game down altogether. The cocoon pod slowly lifted open, and he rubbed his face with an expression of sheer panic. Suddenly, he felt completely overwhelmed by this “affection.”
