Ch 58: E-Sport’s Group Pampered Omega

Chapter 58

After that day, a saying spread through the P-Team club:

“Xia Tong and Lin Mingfei—one hits, the other takes it willingly.”

Everyone felt a bit guilty watching it unfold. That little Omega somehow endured another 20-kilometer ride. By the latter half, Zhou Yanjun had to literally drag him back. Yet, Xia Tong was stubborn as ever—he insisted on getting off the bike independently, only to end up face-planting at the club’s entrance.

Luckily, nothing serious happened. He Youjin rushed out from the base to help him up. “Oh, my poor little thing, don’t be sad! Manager He just booked a massage therapist for you. You can’t skip stretching after intense exercise—it’s unhealthy! Come on, come on, let’s go upstairs for a massage and a break!”

Xia Tong: “M-Massage?”

“Yeah! A real deep-tissue one! It’s amazing!” He Youjin guided him inside while talking. “Manager He’s got tons of experience. He found a famous master from the field—Master Fang from the Baiji Lin lineage!”

“Master Fang?”

“Fang Huifeng’s descendant! You seriously don’t know? Don’t you watch movies?”

Xia Tong: “.”

He turned his head helplessly, looking toward Lin Mingfei as if pleading for help. Lin Mingfei just shrugged and watched as the break room door closed.

Ten minutes later, a blood-curdling scream echoed through the base.

“AAAAHHHHH IT HURTS! IT HURTS! AAAHHHH IT’S BREAKING! NOOOO, THIS ISN’T RIGHT! MOM—!!!”

Everyone else in the club winced at the sound, sighing in sympathy.

“Holy shit, you’re actually okay with this?” Shi Ya gasped, glaring at Lin Mingfei in shock.

“Stretching is supposed to hurt,” Lin Mingfei replied matter-of-factly. “It hurts now, but it’ll feel great after.”

“But—he’s still an Omega, at least…” Shi Ya’s lips twitched.

“It’s for his own good,” Lin Mingfei said simply.

“Wow, you’re seriously heartless. Zero, the humanity!” Zhou Yanjun covered his ears, his teeth chattering.

“Are we really not going to attract the police like this?” Bo Yu murmured in distress.

Lin Mingfei remained expressionless. “No pain, no gain. I’m warning you all—don’t be the ones holding Xia Tong back.”

Everyone: “…… Monster.”

After the torture session, Xia Tong felt like he had entered a half-conscious state. His limbs were limp, as if he had turned into a long, wobbly noodle. He lay on the yoga mat for a while, waiting for his soul to return to his body.

Suddenly, his phone buzzed.

“Huh… who is it?” he mumbled to himself, fumbling to unlock the screen.

A glaring red notification popped up in his WeChat friend list—one new friend request.

Xia Tong, still dazed, clicked on the details.

[Sabertooth Tiger Goblin requests to add you as a friend.]

He tapped “Accept” without thinking.

Too exhausted to care, Xia Tong shifted into a more comfortable position. Just as his hand relaxed, his phone vibrated again.

He lifted it with difficulty and glanced at the screen.

[Sabertooth Tiger Goblin has retracted a message.]

Xia Tong: “???”

He stared blankly at the screen for a long moment before realizing something—

An enemy player just added him as a friend.

Xia Xiaotong: [??? What did you send?]

Sabertooth Tiger Goblin: [Nothing.]

Xia Tong furrowed his brows and thought for a while.

Xia Xiaotong: [Did you just try to apologize to me?]

Sabertooth Tiger Goblin: [I didn’t send anything!]

Sabertooth Tiger Goblin: [Apologize to you? Are you kidding me?! Why should I apologize to you?!]

Lin Mingfei didn’t mention that they had traced the IP address of the Sabertooth Tiger team.

Xia Xiaotong: [I don’t know, what do you think?]

Sabertooth Goblin: [Are you mocking me?]

Sabertooth Tiger Goblin: [I’m telling you, I still think you were cheating! Ha!]

Xia Xiaotong: [I didn’t cheat! You’re just making things up!]

Sabertooth Goblin: [You did! You definitely did!]

Xia Xiaotong: [I didn’t! Apologize to me!]

Sabertooth Goblin: [I won’t! I just won’t! Bite me, you little shorty!]

Xia Xiaotong: [Hmph!!!]

Xia Tong was so furious that he jumped up from the yoga mat, took a screenshot of the chat, and immediately sent it to Lin Mingfei.

A moment later.

Polaris_Zero: [Wait.]

Xia Tong: [Okay!]

He sat there fuming, waiting. About half an hour later, Sabertooth Goblin finally replied.

Sabertooth Tiger Goblin: [I’m sorry, Xia Tong from Polaris. I shouldn’t have spread baseless rumors about you cheating, nor should I have impulsively reported your account anonymously, causing serious consequences for you and the Polaris team. I sincerely apologize and hope you can forgive my mistake! Please give me a chance to make amends!]

This complete 180-degree change in attitude was too sudden. Xia Tong was genuinely startled, unsure what kind of weird pill this guy had taken. He didn’t dare respond right away and nervously poked Lin Mingfei.

Polaris_Zero: [Oh, the League Office staff is watching Cai Lun, and Cai Lun is watching the Goblin. They need to wait until you personally reply “I forgive you,” take a screenshot, and send it to the League Office before this matter is officially settled.]

Polaris_Zero: [You don’t have to reply right away. Let him stew in the scolding for a bit longer.]

Xia Xiaotong: [!]

Xia Xiaotong: [You’re right! Then I’ll take a shower first! And have breakfast! Hmph! Let him suffer!]

With that, he suddenly felt invigorated, got up from the yoga mat, and marched confidently back to his bedroom.

After getting clean and eating his fill, Xia Tong completely forgot about replying to the Goblin. He arranged with Lin Mingfei to continue practicing jump rope and arithmetic, and they trained the entire afternoon. It wasn’t until the evening, when he lay down on his bed, that he suddenly remembered he still had unfinished business.

“Oh no, oh no,” he muttered, quickly grabbing his phone. He typed “I forgive you” into Sabertooth Goblin’s chat window and hit send.

A long time passed before [Sabertooth Goblin] turned into [Typing…]

For some reason, Xia Tong suddenly felt a little nervous. He clutched his phone tightly, feeling his heartbeat pounding at his fingertips.

Sabertooth Goblin: [Xia Tong, are you really the new member of Polaris?]

Xia Xiaotong: [I am. Got any advice for me?]

Sabertooth Goblin: [You play a Wizard?]

Xia Xiaotong: [Yeah, I play Wizard.]

Sabertooth Goblin: [Wizards don’t play like you do.]

His tone was so arrogant that it made Xia Tong, who was earnestly trying to improve, feel frustrated.

Xia Xiaotong: [How do you even know how I play Wizard? You’ve never even seen me play! What gives you the right to say that Wizards aren’t played my way?!]

Sabertooth Goblin: [Are you looping me? Stop looping in front of me!]

Sabertooth Goblin: [I saw your playstyle the other day. Oh wait, no, that wasn’t even a playstyle.]

Xia Xiaotong: [What do you mean it’s not a playstyle?! If that’s not a playstyle, then what is it?!]

Sabertooth Goblin: [It’s called radio calisthenics. Have you ever seen radio calisthenics?]

Xia Xiaotong: […No, I haven’t.]

Sabertooth Goblin: [You’ve never even seen radio calisthenics? What kind of country bumpkin are you?]

After that, he sent a voice message. Xia Tong hesitated but pressed play. The guy on the other end mimicked a robotic, exaggerated voice and started chanting:

“One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Two, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Three, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Four, two, three, four—one more time!”

If this wasn’t pure mockery, then what was?!

Xia Tong’s face turned bright red with anger.

Xia Xiaotong: [Shut up!]

Sabertooth Goblin: [I won’t shut up. To be honest, even though I apologized to you, I still feel like my apology was completely unnecessary!]

Xia Xiaotong: [Why?!]

Sabertooth Goblin: [Because Sabertooth will always be the ultimate winner. Whether you cheat or not, the result won’t change!]

Xia Xiaotong: [Nonsense! Once we get on the field, we’ll crush you all into the ground! Just like we did in the Snow Palace!]

Sabertooth Goblin: [Haha, you think you’ll even make it to the field? Please, try beating those Russian guys from that team first, will you? Shorty!]

Sabertooth Goblin: [Honestly, you Polaris guys should just accept that you’re past your prime. Wouldn’t it be nice to retire as a glorious part of history? I heard that if you can’t beat that team this time, you won’t even qualify to register in the league. Oof, how embarrassing would that be?!]

Sabertooth Goblin: [I doubt you’ll even get to the official matches. By this time next week, you’ll be lying on the arena floor crying!]

Sabertooth Goblin: [Seriously, recruiting an Omega to play holographic esports? Wow, Zero must be desperate, trying anything he can. Or maybe he’s just getting senile with age? Wait—are you some kind of nepotism hire?]

Sabertooth Goblin: [Ping Shuai is laughing his head off here! Good thing I didn’t go back with you guys.]

Xia Tong’s breathing grew more and more rapid. His fingers clenched around his phone, trembling with anger.

Ping Shuai—his former Wizard teammate who had abandoned Polaris, looking down on them in their decline.

How could he?! How could he laugh at Polaris, the team Xia Tong treasured so dearly?!

Xia Xiaotong: 【Why is he laughing? He’s the last person who has the right to laugh! Polaris is the best team in the world!】

Xia Xiaotong: 【Just wait and see! We’re not only going to defeat Gourd Squad, but we’ll also meet you in the scrims! We’ll face you on the official stage!】

Xia Xiaotong: 【I’ll make sure all of you sincerely apologize to Zero!!!】
