Chapter 28
Debon, wake up quickly! The little beauty you brought has gone bad!
Lin Mingfei roared in shock in his mind.
Unable to resist, he opened his eyes and looked somewhat speechlessly at the straightforward little Omega in front of him.
Xia Tong probably didn’t think much of it, his gaze still fixed intently below Lin Mingfei’s collar, and if his eyes had hands and feet, they would have likely stripped Lin Mingfei’s clothes off and hung them on his arm.
Lin Mingfei was wearing a summer cardigan nightshirt, loose and soft. After the rough tumble earlier in bed, the fabric was all wrinkled, and the open collar had deformed, exposing the graceful curve of his neck and collarbone, with the solid chest muscles underneath faintly visible.
Xia Tong’s gemstone-like pupils were slightly enlarged in excitement, his cheeks flushed pink.
This little pervert is being way too obvious!
Lin Mingfei tactically leaned back a little, using his hand to adjust the collar, his ears burning with embarrassment.
“Stop talking nonsense,” he scolded with a stern face.
“I’m not talking nonsense, I’m speaking the truth,” Xia Tong blinked, seriously staring at Lin Mingfei. “Brother, you have a good figure, you’re nice to me, and seeing you makes me really happy.”
“Do you often say these things to Alpha?” Lin Mingfei was stirred, his brows furrowed.
“No,” Xia Tong shook his head, happily stretching his neck like a little kitten seeking affection. “So far, I’ve only said this to you.”
If it were someone else, Lin Mingfei might misunderstand the meaning of this, it really sounded like a confession, but the recipient was Xia Tong.
This little Omega didn’t understand the world and was probably just expressing his feelings directly. When he said he was happy to see him, it was just that—he was happy.
Does he not feel happy seeing Shi Ya? Seeing Zhou Yanjun? This little thing would be happy for half a day just seeing a peculiar mushroom in the game.
Lin Mingfei sighed deeply, feeling helpless.
Xia Tong was naive, but he couldn’t be foolish along with him, after all, he was a fully aware, mature Alpha.
Xia Tong kept staring at him with his big, shiny eyes. Lin Mingfei suddenly rubbed his forehead, blocking this highly distracting, adorable gaze with his palm.
“Debon, you’ve found it, go back to sleep,” he pushed Xia Tong’s shoulder, turning him around.
“But…” Xia Tong still hesitated, looking back repeatedly. “Didn’t you say I could sleep with you?”
Lin Mingfei: “Huh?”
He paused for a moment, remembering that when they were at the administration center handling paperwork, Xia Tong had thought he was going to be kicked out and had cried. To comfort him, Lin Mingfei had playfully promised that Xia Tong could sleep with him.
How did Xia Tong take it seriously?
Blushing, Xia Tong pointed at his fingers: “Then can I sleep with you? I think your clothes and blanket smell so good…”
Before he could finish his sentence, Lin Mingfei pulled him to the door.
“No,” Lin Mingfei said, unusually serious, pointing his finger. “Go back to your own bed now. Goodnight.”
“Ying!” Xia Tong looked at Lin Mingfei with watery eyes, reluctantly glancing at him, and then walked away, moving as if distracted.
Lin Mingfei slammed the door shut, leaned against it, and exhaled a long breath. He was sweating on his forehead, unsure when it had appeared.
Being passively in heat sometimes happens so easily and swiftly…
What a good smell… this little thing doesn’t understand anything.
Lin Mingfei tugged at the hem of his shirt to cover the noticeable bulge, his expression dark.
Too dangerous.

The next day at noon, Team P’s group of night owls gradually woke up.
“Damn, it smells so good.” Zhou Yanjun didn’t even have to open his eyes, he could smell the food and headed downstairs, where He Youjin was directing the kitchen staff to bring in the dishes.
“Hey, don’t touch that!” He Youjin slapped Zhou Yanjun’s hand away from the Australian lobster. “Go wash your hands! Look at your nails! You’re a walking petri dish!”
Zhou Yanjun held his chubby hand in shock and protested, “Who the hell are you to order me around?”
“I’m your new manager, hired by your team leader with great effort! I ordered this meal, and I decide who can eat and who can’t!” He Youjin wasn’t afraid of him, sneering. “Not only that, from now on, anything outside of the game, I make the decisions around here!”
Zhou Yanjun: “…Lin Mingfei, did you hire a new dad for me?”
“The one feeding you is at least your real father. Be grateful.” Lin Mingfei came downstairs and scoffed.
“What’s with those panda eyes?” Zhou Yanjun was startled and clicked his tongue. “Went out for some fun last night?”
“…”
Lin Mingfei’s temples throbbed.
In a way, Zhou Yanjun was half right. After Xia Tong left last night, he couldn’t sleep properly, dreaming of beasts all night, which wasn’t good for his health.
“I’m He Youjin, male, Beta, your new manager,” He Youjin introduced himself confidently. “Once we finish this meal, we’ll be in the same boat, sharing fortune and misfortune.”
“That just makes it sound like we’re all not serious people,” Shi Ya came in and grabbed some soda from the fridge, laughing. “Hey Zero, why do you look so bad? Didn’t sleep well last night?”
For the second time today, Lin Mingfei felt a twinge of guilt when someone brought up something that hit a nerve. He coughed and sat down at the table. “No, I’m just worried about the team. We’re missing a wizard. Where can we find one?”
The room fell silent, with only the sound of Zhou Yanjun noisily slurping shark fin soup.
Everyone gave him a look of disbelief.
“What are you all looking at me for?” Zhou Yanjun mumbled with his mouth full. “Looking for a wizard? Sure, six-legged frogs are hard to find, but there’s a wizard right next door, isn’t there?”
Holding back his irritation, Lin Mingfei smirked. “Find me a wizard who can hold their own against Saber-tooth.”
Zhou Yanjun finished off a bowl of soup and then licked his lips. “If I find one, will you take my last name?”
“Get lost.” Lin Mingfei pushed his chubby face away.
“Come on.” Zhou Yanjun raised a hand as if to swear an oath. “There’s a badass wizard who snatched the Emperor Ghost from under Saber-tooth’s nose, and he’s literally sleeping next door.”
“?!”
Everyone at the table turned in unison, looking in the same direction.
“An Omega? Playing competitive VR gaming?” Shi Ya narrowed his eyes thoughtfully. “That’s quite the idea, Fire.”
“Hey, Zero, didn’t you say there was an Omega at your base? Where is he? I haven’t seen a trace!” He Youjin demanded, glaring at Lin Mingfei.
“Let me tell you, that Omega at our base is drop-dead gorgeous!” Zhou Yanjun bragged, as if showing off a family heirloom. “No kidding, I think Xia Tong is extraordinarily talented. Would you believe it? Yesterday, he played with me and Little Bo in Snowy Cathedral, used sixteen skills in ten seconds, completed four attack cycles, and even managed to chain an Infinite Soul Loop.”
“Infinite Soul Loop?” Shi Ya raised an eyebrow. “That’s impressive.”
“Right? His DPS even surpassed mine at one point,” Zhou Yanjun said.
“He uses skills like they don’t have cooldowns,” Bo Yu added seriously with a nod.
“And when he was fighting Robin King, he kept using restriction spells like crazy,” Shi Ya mused, scratching his chin. “Robin didn’t have enough ways to break free.”
“Exactly,” Zhou Yanjun agreed. “Even though he’s small and nowhere near as strong as an Alpha, wizard classes don’t rely on brute strength anyway.”
Shi Ya said, “Fire’s idea actually makes a lot of sense. Nothing says an Omega can’t be in competitive esports, right? Why don’t we give it a shot? Zero, what do you think?”
Lin Mingfei, who had been silent the whole time, felt an odd restlessness rise again when Xia Tong was mentioned. With his head resting in one hand, he muttered, “Don’t ask me, go ask Xia Tong.”
“Hey, I’m telling you, he’ll definitely be up for it!” Zhou Yanjun cleared his throat and called out loudly, “Little Xia Tong!”
His voice reverberated through the whole base.
“What do you want!!” came Xia Tong’s clear voice from behind a closed bedroom door.
“Do you want to join P-Team and play pro with us?” Zhou Yanjun yelled with great enthusiasm. “Fight together, chase the dream of becoming champions—”
“No!”
Zhou Yanjun: “???”
He exchanged a bewildered look with Bo Yu and shouted again, “Why not? Don’t you like the vibe of our team?”
“It’s because you guys don’t like me!” Xia Tong yelled back in frustration.
“Who doesn’t like you?” Zhou Yanjun called out. “Who would dare not like you?”
“Zero! Zero doesn’t like me!” Xia Tong’s indignant voice rang out. “Last night, he wouldn’t even let me sleep with him! He promised he would, but then he didn’t! He totally hates me!”
Everyone: “???”
Talk about jaw-dropping revelations.
The P-Team’s dining hall became as silent as a graveyard; you could almost hear a grain of rice drop from Zhou Yanjun’s mouth.
In that instant, Lin Mingfei felt as though several murderous gazes pierced him.
“Tsk tsk,” He Youjin muttered, speaking what everyone was thinking. “What a beast!”
“…”
